West Hills Golf Club names Brett Wilson as Director of Golf.

Good morning everyone.

On behalf of West Hills Golf, we are pleased to announce the hiring of Brett Wilson as the new Director of Golf for the 2021 season. Brett brings over a decade of experience in the golf industry and a high level of skill and personality along with a strong work ethic. Please see the following for a quick bio on Brett along with a statement from Brett as it relates to the new opportunity at West Hills.

Born and raised in Sussex, New Brunswick, Brett graduated from Sussex Regional High School in 2012, Brett then went on to complete the Golf Club Management and Professional Golf Management programs at Holland College. He graduated from both programs in 2015 with honors, and was named CCAA Academic and Athletic All-Canadian each year.

Brett joined the PGA of Canada in the spring of 2015 before starting his first season as an Assistant Professional at the Fredericton Golf Club. Some of Brett’s Accomplishments include winning a Gold Medal at the 2014 CCAA Nationals for Holland College, he also won the PGA Atlantic Assistants Championship, the PGA Atlantic Players Championship and is a PGA Atlantic Zone Champion. He was also fortunate enough to be named Player of The Year in 2015 and Candidate for Membership of The Year in 2018 for the PGA of Canada Atlantic Zone.

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope everyone’s off season is going well and everyone is happy and healthy. 

Just wanted to provide an update on what has been going on at West Hills the last month. For starters, we have replaced our original 20 electric golf carts with 20 new electric ClubCars and will have an additional 13 new electric Clubcars, bringing our electric cart fleet to 57 total for the 2021 season.

As well, construction has finally started on the clubhouse expansion and we will proudly be able to welcome you to St James Gate at West Hills in 2021. I will be providing regular updates of the clubhouse expansion throughout the winter including when we expect to have it opened so stay tuned for that.

Also tomorrow morning, I will be sending out an email and posting on our website, Facebook page and Instagram Page, our 2021 Membership Rates. Memberships will be available for purchase starting Tuesday December 01st at 9:30am at our clubhouse at 200 Summerhill Row instead of the main office on Douglas Ave as was the case in past years. As well, gift cards and our special holiday 10 pass will be available as well. The hours of operation from now until December 24th will be Monday-Friday 9:30am-4:30pm

And finally on one final note, I would like to take the time to thank Jeff Magnussen for all the years he has put in at West Hills Golf. Without Jeff being here from the beginning, West Hills would not be where it is now and I know it is greatly appreciated by all.
With that in mind, I plan to continue what Jeff started here into the future and plan on providing you the best golfing experience possible next season and beyond.
