West Hills Golf News Update

Good morning everyone,

Annual Fall Aeration Notice: As a necessary part of our cultural program at WHG, our fall aeration program for the greens will begin on Monday, September 30th.  Our plan is to close and aerate the front 9 on Monday and reverse the process for the back 9 on Tuesday.  As you are aware, the weather plays an important role in this process, as we need a sunny dry day to complete these tasks.  We plan to start on September 30th, but will postpone/reschedule if conditions are not adequate and begin again on the following day. 

Both practice greens will be aerated on Wednesday (weather permitting) and the driving range aeration will be scheduled for later in the week after all greens are complete.

As the weather/daylight hours/maintenance schedule changes in October, I wanted to update/remind everyone that our 1^st tee time of the day will start at 8:00am as of Monday, September 30th. 
The risk of frost is now starting to affect our start times in the morning, so we would ask all golfers that usually book first thing in the morning to start to book a little later in the day to ensure that their reservation is not cancelled.

Good afternoon members,

I wanted to remind everyone that West Hills is hosting a Department of Health tournament on Thursday, September 12^th with a shotgun start at 2pm (Please remember that our calendar of events/schedule was given out to all members in their welcome package).

Since golf will be limited on that day, we will be offering the following “Member Only” tee times, for this tournament day, starting at 7:30am.

–Tee times starting at 7:30am to 11:00am will be available to book.  We ask members to make sure that their round is complete by 2:30pm.

–There will be 2 options to book, call the Clubhouse 450-4653 or arrive at the clubhouse (Since not all members book online and to try to make this as least complicated and fair as possible, we are offering these 2 options.  Please remember that we only have 3 phones, so patience would be appreciated)

–Reserve your spot/group at – 7:30am, Wednesday September 11th (We will start taking calls when the clubhouse opens at 7:30am Wednesday morning and to help make this fair and accommodating, each member can book in his or her 4-player group so everyone doesn’t need to call or show up to the clubhouse.
