I wanted to take a quick moment and thank all of our members who participated in our 1st ever Club Championships this past weekend. Great weather and just a great bunch of people!
With regards to the trophy presentation, my original option for our CC trophies ended up not to the standard we were satisfied with, so I decided to go with a local company “Club Fred Grafx” to supply us with our trophies. I had the new versions on display over the weekend and should have them finished up shortly. When completed, a formal group photo/time will be set at everyone’s convenience.
Special thanks again to all of my staff members in both operations and maintenance for their hard work to get the course ready and to make this event happen!

Good “Championship” afternoon everyone!
-I wanted to let everyone know that for Monday, August 16th, we will be reversing the front and back 9 to allow our maintenance crew to complete work on the front 9 (weather permitting).
Also, the driving range will be closed from 7am to 2pm on Tuesday, August 28th for maintenance.
Thanks for everyone’s continued support with fixing your ball marks on the greens. We are starting to see some positive improvement!

2018 Club Championship Update
August 25th-26th
Good morning everyone,
I just wanted to provide a quick update for everyone about the upcoming club championship this weekend.
Tee times will be posted by this coming Thursday August 23rd and groupings will be decided by divisions and handicaps for the first day, while on the second day it will be by divisions and scores with the best scores going out last. Tee times will start at 8am on both Saturday and Sunday.
The order of divisions will be as follows:
– First day will be the Men’s division followed by the Senior Men then the Ladies.
– Second day will be the Senior Men followed by the Ladies and then the Men.
As well, the golf course will be fully staked and marked properly for this weekend and rules sheets will be provided for each golfer with a description of where every hazard is marked and where various drop zones are located.
As previously mentioned, the deadline to sign up was Monday August 20th, so if you have not already done so, I strongly encourage anyone that is undecided to sign up today by visiting us at the clubhouse. For people that have signed up but not paid yet, we do require the entry fee to be paid as soon as possible so we can fully finalize participant numbers and applicable money for prizes. As a reminder from previous messages, the fee for the event is cash only.
Also we have received numerous questions about handicaps and what can and cannot be used. The only handicap that will be accepted is a valid Golf Canada Gold Membership handicap that is purchased, the free bronze option or other handicaps from other systems will not be accepted as they are not considered valid for tournament play.
Last but never least…I wanted to take a quick moment and thank our all of our staff members for their hard work and extra effort leading up to the club championships. Special thanks to Stephen Pugh, Zane Cameron and Adam Fletcher for their time and effort.

Good afternoon everyone,
-Over the past four weeks, we have been giving out our complimentary WHG repair tools to help promote fixing ball marks on our greens. I wanted to say thanks to the many members and guests that have been diligent with this process and that we appreciate the effort of fixing their ball mark and marks from other golfers, when time permits. Since this is an ongoing issue, we would like to ask all members to continue this process to help keep our greens rolling consistently for everyone! As a general rule, a ball mark repaired within 10 minutes will heal with a smooth surface within two to three days. An unrepaired ball mark may take as long as three weeks to heal, but the result will be an uneven surface.
So, if you need a tool, please ask a WHG Starter or Staff Member to get you one.

Entry Fee: $40 per player, that includes prizes, pizza and dessert with an optional $10 skins game each day. Entry fee must be paid by August 20th and is cash only.
Tee Times will start at 8:00 am daily and the meal will be scheduled for after the round on Saturday August the 25th.
Divisions: Men (under 59), Senior Men (60+) and Ladies (under 59, 60+). These divisions will include 2-3 different division flights depending on participation.
The Men will play from the White tees while the Senior Men will play from the Red tees. If Senior Men want to be eligible for the overall Men’s Club Championship they must play from the White tees as well. Women under 60 will play from the Red tees while Women 60+ will play from the Yellow tees.
Prizes: There will be multiple gross and net prizes with each division. To be eligible for net prizes, participants must have and be maintaining an active Golf Canada Gold Membership handicap. If you require one or are unsure if you have one please speak with any clubhouse staff or myself regarding this. There will also be a Long Drive and a Closest to the Pin prize each day for each division.
*Power carts will be provided as an option for all participants free of charge however they will be required to ride with someone if necessary. Please note, that we will have 44 power carts available for the event. Range Balls will be complimentary as well for all participants to warm up with, before his or round.
